Popular logistics provider DHL Express (India) Pvt Ltd has stopped picking up import shipments from China, Hong Kong and Macao for next 10 days, reports Business Today. The logistics provider intimated customers about the delay in a note fresh note on Thursday.
According to a report published in BusinessToday.in, the company has reached out to its customers as import consignments from China have begun piling up due to delay in custom clearances across key ports.
It was reported earlier that many Chinese imports are stuck at key Indian ports due to a recurrence of coronavirus cases in China.
“Over the last few days, we are witnessing a severe lag in customs clearance for shipments originating from China, Hong Kong and Macao across all the ports in India,” said DHL Express in a note to customers.
“This has led to uncontrollable queuing, congestion and delays of shipments in our clearance ports across the country.” The June 25 note has been reviewed by BusinessTooday.in.

The company said it will be temporarily suspending pickup of import shipments from China, Hong Kong and Macao for 10 days.
