MPs look for caveats for parastatal land parcels without the need of title deeds

Parliament wishes CEOs of State businesses without title deeds to their houses to set caveats on all the parcels of land that are in non-public fingers.
The National Assembly’s Community Investments Committee (PIC), in a report to the Residence, states most corporations have no title paperwork to extensive parcels of land.
The committee singled out the Kenya Wildlife Assistance (KWS), which has 222 items of land distribute throughout the country but only retains title paperwork for 45 parcels.
The committee also flagged the Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya Nationwide Highways Authority, Kenya Railways Corporation, Kenya Countrywide Bureau of Stats, and the Bomas of Kenya.
“The accounting officers of Condition corporations and the chairperson of the Countrywide Land Fee (NLC) should really place caveats on all the parcels of Point out corporations’ land that are in personal arms,” PIC chairman Abdulswamad Nassir stated in a report to Parliament.
PIC mentioned KWS had not included land as component of the home, plant and devices product.
Of the 24 countrywide parks registered 12 have title deeds although only one particular of the 29 nationwide reserves has the ownership doc.
